Friday Fiesta
- IndiaGlitz, [Friday,May 13 2011]
Forget about fans, even the whole Kollywood is waiting for something else than the release of films this Friday. And that is, needless to say, the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results.
But still, we have four releases this week- ÂAzhagarsamiyin KudhiraiÂ, ÂNarthakiÂ, ÂSankarankovil and ÂSuttumvizhi SudareyÂ.
The common thing about all the four films is they donÂt have any popular faces in the lead roles. However, ÂAzhagarsamiyin Kudhirai and ÂNarthaki have managed to garner attention, and you can find the reasons below.

Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai
As the title suggests the script revolves around a horse (two horses actually). This is the third directorial venture of Suseenthiran, who had already carved a niche for himself with films like ÂVennila Kabadi Kuzhu and ÂNan Mahan AllaÂ.
The movie, which has Appukutty and Saranya Mohan in the lead, is set in a village called Mallayapuram near Theni. Based on a story penned by Bhaskar Sakthi, ÂAzhagarsamiyin Kudhirai has music by Ilayaraja.
ÂBesides songs, the life and blood of the movie is his background score, says Suseenthiran. Produced by Escape Artistes Motion Pictures, the film is released by Dhayanidhi AlagiriÂs Cloud Nine Movies.

Narthaki
Kollywood has always been unkind to transgenders. Comes ÂNarthaki as an apt compensation. Directed by Vijaya Padma, the movie is produced by ÂPunnagai Poo Geetha of ÂArindhum Ariyamalum and ÂPattiyal fame.
Music is by G V Prakash Kumar. ÂWe have tried to throw light on the lives of transgenders in an interesting way. We sincerely hope that the film will convey the right message in a right manner, the director says.
Recently, Exnora International, an organisation known for its campaigns on various social and environmental issues, honoured the team members of Narthaki with Cine Seva awards.
In a statement, Exnora said, ÂNarthaki is a bold and honest film, which portraits life experience of a transsexual child and her courageous journey from being a struggling boy to successful woman.Â
