Friday Fiesta 270511

Again it's an interesting line-up of films this Friday, ranging from fantasy to comedy to feel-good genres. We have 'Maaveeran', 'Sabash Sariyana Potti' and 'Eththan' in hand and each of them promises to be different from the other two.

While 'Maaveeran' is the Tamil dubbing version of Tollywood all-time hit 'Magadheera', 'Sabash Sariyana Potti' is the maiden directorial venture of popular small screen actor Venu Aravind. 'Eththan', which has Vimal in the lead, was supposed to hit the screens last week, but finally saw the light of the day today.

Maaveeran, Tollywood’s biggest ever blockbuster ‘Magadheera’ is ready to speak as ‘Maaveeran’.

Produced by Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts, one of the top production houses of Telugu film industry, ‘Magadheera’, directed by S S Rajamouli starring Ramcharan Teja and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles, set new records in Tollywood.

Ramcharan says, “All credit goes to director Rajamouli, who etched my character so beautifully, making my job easy. The director wanted a particular look with long hair and a sculptured body to match. I did six months of rigorous workouts to get that look.”

Kajal Agarwal is a popular face in Tamil cinema and with shrewd marketing by Geetha Arts, ‘Maaveeran’ is all geared up for the box-office battle.

Sabash Sariyana Potti, Jayaram's skills to make you laugh is evident. The actor who started his journey in Kamal Haasan starerr 'Chanakyan', is known for playing lead roles with abundant humour.

He is all set to repeat what he knows the best in 'Sabash Sariyana Potti', to be released next month. Interestingly, it is the maiden directorial venture of actor Venu Aravindh.

Everybdy has aspirations and dreams. I've just taken two people's dreams and traveled through them in my film. While one of the two important characters is an actor, the other is his fan. Jayaram plays the actor's role, and a newcomer called Sriram Karthik has played the fan. The story has been narrated in a lighter vein, says the director.

Anjana Thamburati, an architect from the US, has played the role of the heroine. Music for the movie is by Thaman .

Eththan, Post the stupendous success of ‘Kalavani’, producer Nazir of Sherali Films is gearing up to repeat the magic with ‘Eththan’, which has the same Vimal playing the role of the protagonist.

Directed by debutant L Suresh, it is a hilarious entertainer, according to Nazir. The whole movie has been shot in Kumbakonam and its adjoining areas.

Suresh, who was a former associate of veteran filmmaker Balu Mahendra, says, “The movie is a collection of incidents that I have come across in my life. Youngsters will identify themselves with the character that Vimal is donning in Eththan.”

Vimal says, “I felt very comfortable with Suresh and his easy style of direction reminded me of my previous directors Pandiraj and Sargunam. Ethan is an energetic entertainer”
