Kangana Ranaut is quite eager for fans to witness her latest work in the film 'Thalaivi'. The film is just a day away from it release. Makers are opting for a theatrical release even though a large number of theaters are still out of the game. 'Thalaivi' is going to release in Hindi as well as Tamil and Telugu languages. Makers are keen to release the film on OTT platforms soon after the theatrical release.
This has caused a rift between theatres owner and makers. Owners demanded a four week gal between the two releases while makers were only giving a two week window. The issue escalated so much in last few days that theatres owners even refused to screen the movie. The latest buzz about the project suggests that digital steaming rights of 'Thalaivi' have been sold to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video simultaneously. The film will release together on both the platforms.
Kangana has demanded govt of Maharashtra to lift the ban from movie theaters. She wrote in one of her stories, "Cases in Maharashtra have declined to request Maharashtra Government to #openupcinemas in Maharashtra and save the dying film industry and theatres business.” In another one, she wrote, "In Maharashtra, restaurants, hotels, offices, local trains everything is open but movie theatres are shut because of Covid, according to Maharashtra government Covid only and only exclusively spreads in the movie theatres."
