Amala Paul recently has been in the news for allegedly evading taxes to the tune of Rs. 20 lacs by registering in Puducherry the Mercedes Benz she had bought in August. While she mostly uses the Benz in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the same has reportedly been registered in the name of a student from Puducherry, where the taxes are lower. The Puducherry law authorities are looking into the issue.
Meanwhile, a fresh FIR has been lodged against her by the Thiruvananthapuram police on the grounds that she allegedly produced fudged documents as residential proof in buying the car with the intention of evading the tax.
The police had asked the 'Dongodocchadu' heroine to appear before them to clarify but since she has failed to appear, they have proceeded against her.
The actress is currently holidaying in the mountainous terrains of Ladakh.
A similar FIR has been filed against Mollywood actor Fahadh Faasil.
