Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee has tested positive for Covid-19. The news was broken to the world by Mukherjee himself on Twitter.
"On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19," the former Union Minister in the Manmohan Singh government tweeted.
Many politicians across the country have taken to social media to wish the dignitary a speedy recovery.
After Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, the former CM of Karnataka and several other politicians in the country, Mukherjee is the latest one to contract the virus.
