Ushoshi Sengupta, the former Miss India and a model based in Kolkata, was on Tuesday night assaulted by seven men. Their names are: Rahit, Fardin Khan, Sabir Ali, Gani, Imran Ali, Wasim, and Atif Khan.

As per early reports, the model and his colleague were returning to their home after an event at a five-star hotel. They were chased in their Uber car by the seven men, who came on bikes.

Within no time, the culprits tried to drag Ushoshi. They beat up the driver.

As the assaulters became more aggressive, Ushoshi called up the police, only to be told the area doesn't come under their jurisdiction. The victims were made to change directions by the police so that action can be taken once jurisdiction criteria are met!

The incident has come as a shocker at a time when West Bengal continues to be in the news for poor law and order maintenance.
