Former Microsoft Engineer jailed for 10 million fraud using Bitcoins!

A former Microsoft engineer has been sentenced to nine years in prison for defrauding the company of 10 million using bitcoin. Reportedly the engineer used bitcoin mixed to hide taxable income and had indulged in filing fraudulent tax returns. He had also stolen money to purchase a 1.6 million dollars worth home and a Tesla car worth $160,000.
The person named Volodymyr Kvashuk, 26 had worked at Microsoft from 2016-2018 and cheated the company using their testing program. Kvashuk was convicted for wire fraud, money laundering, identity theft, filing false tax returns besides mail fraud and device access fraud.
During tht hearing, U.S. District Judge James L. Robart said Kvashuk didn’t respect the law. Kvashuk had been a part of Microsoft’s online sales platform and misused his testing access to stea digital gift cards and used the money to buy a $1.6 million dollar home and a $160,000 Tesla car. Kvashuk also planned to put the blame on his colleagues as he also misused their test email accounts.
