Former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, who has been associated with the Congress party in Telangana, on Wednesday reportedly met with a road accident. However, he escaped unhurt. The accident took place in Rajasthan's Soorwal. The car in which the legendary cricketer-turned-politician was travelling skidded off and overturned when the driver applied brakes.
Azhar was travelling with his family members. He is currently being treated for minor injuries. Although the vehicle was mauled, none of the other individuals was hurt. Taking to Twitter in the evening, Azhar said that he is well and safe."Thank you for all your messages. I had a minor accident today and I am well and safe by the grace of allah. Thanks for all the concern," Azhar wrote.
Azhar and three others were admitted to a hospital and discharged later in the day.
He is the Chairman of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
