Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was discharged from Yashoda Hospital on Friday following a successful total hip replacement surgery performed on December 8.
A source close to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief revealed that he will be returning to his home in Nandi Nagar.
Expressing gratitude, BRS MLC and Rao's daughter K Kavitha took to social media to thank the hospital team. She conveyed, "All the warmth and love we received from across the country during this difficult time was very heartwarming to KCR garu and the entire family. To all the BRS family, my gratitude & love."
Hospital authorities have indicated that KCR is expected to recover over the next six to eight weeks.
The hip replacement surgery became necessary after Rao sustained a fracture from a fall in his bathroom on December 7, leading to his admission to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. The procedure, conducted by a team of senior orthopedic surgeons, was reported to have been successful, with Rao's condition deemed stable.
According to a health bulletin released by the hospital, KCR "had a slip and fall in his Bathroom at his Residence and was subsequently brought to Yashoda Hospital Somajiguda for further care," undergoing the "planned operation of left Total Hip Replacement."
During his hospital stay, the BRS chief received visits from Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, and several other leaders and celebrities, including Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi.
In a considerate move, Rao later appealed to the public not to visit him, citing the risk of infection, as advised by his treating doctors. In a video message, he emphasized the importance of adhering to medical advice to prevent any inconvenience to other patients. Fans of KCR and BRS supporters are showing their happiness and are celebrating as their leader came out of hospital and will soon take charge of the party activities.
