Former CM 'insults' woman in public

Former Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah, is in a soup. Today, at an event in Mysore, the Congress leader was addressing his workers and the general public. During the course of the meeting, a woman named Jameela stood up repeatedly and started questioning Siddaramaiah over the government's neglect of an issue.
The Congress veteran kept on asking her to sit down. But she didn't keep quiet. An irritated Siddaramaiah snatched her mic after a minute or so of shouting. Inadvertently, Jameela's 'dupatta' too fell off a bit due to the snatching act. It has been seen as an instance of 'modesty outrage' by the former CM.
Defending their leader, Dinesh Gundu Rao, a Congress leader, said, "Sometimes when people start asking questions in a rough way and after hearing them out when they don’t stop, you want to pull the mic. When pulling the mic the dupatta came along with. There was no such intention."
The BJP, on the other hand, has called out the rival Siddaramaiah. "CM HD Kumaraswamy asks a farmer women were she slept. JDS MLA Sa Ra Mahesh calls women cop bloody rascal. And here is Siddaramaiah threatening and abusing a woman openly. Demon Dushyasana is finally reborn and resumed power in govt of Karnataka. This is how Cong-JDS treats women," the party commented today.
