Former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Trivandrum. According to the hospital press release, VS Achuthanandan has been diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis, followed by dyselectrolytemia, and altered renal function. It was on October 20, VS Achuthanandan celebrated his 98th birthday.
Apart being the Chief Minister of Kerala from 2006 to 2011, VS is also long-time member of the Kerala assembly and repeatedly as Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly. He was the Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission which came with cabinet status and just before the Assembly polls, he quit the post earlier this year.
