M Nageswara Rao, a retired IPS officer who was also a Director of the CBI, has written to AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy requesting his "kind attention" to the rape of a poor girl in Tirupati on October 3.
As per Rao, the rapist is a pastor who is associated with a Christian Missionary with means and influence. "Police are reportedly under pressure to hush it up. A case was registered after 9 days. The accused pastor has not yet been arrested. Please intervene for justice to the victim," Rao said in a letter to the CM.
He also mentioned in the letter that the girl is an employee of the rapist. After taking her to a secluded place, the perpetrator assaulted her sexually. He later threatened her with dire consequences if she outs her ordeal, the retired IPS officer added. He urged the CM to ensure that the rape case is fast-tracked so that the justice is swift.
