After being removed from his role of director of Central Bureau of Investigation, Alok Verma has resigned from the Indian Police service. It was only yesterday that Alok Verma was removed CBI director's role after a decision was taken by a committed including PM Modi, Lok Sabha opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge and justice AK Sikri.
This is the second time Alok has been forced out of his director role, as earlier on October 23 he was removed from the role, after his conflict with Rakesh Asthana became explicit. Alok had approached the Supreme court, which said that the government has no power to remove CBI director , and hence was reinstated.
Once again the committee sacked Alok, and this time around he was appointed as director general of fire service and home guards, but Alok refused to accept the post and had today resigned from the Indian police service.
