MS Dhoni denies salary from BCCI for serving as Indian Cricket Team's mentor!

Indiaglitz had already updated you that the former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will return as the mentor of the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup tournament. Now, BCCI has revealed to the media that Thala Dhoni won't be taking a single penny for serving ICT.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has confirmed to ANI, MS Dhoni is not charging any honorarium for his services as the mentor of Indian team for the T20 World Cup. Dhoni has been picked as the mentor of the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup which gets underway on October 16 in UAE. The cricketing legend wouldn’t be charging anything for his new role.

MS Dhoni will be seen wearing the Indian blue jersey once again next month after about one year of retirement from international cricket. However, with a different role. The two-time World Cup-winning captain is named as the mentor for team India for the T20 World Cup. BCCI also announced Team India's 15-member squad for the tournament on the same day.

BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal on Tuesday said “He (Dhoni) has been a great leader. Under his captaincy, India won the inaugural World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Records are amazing. It is really great to have him as a mentor of the team (for the ICC World Cup). He has a good reputation and respect in the team, and also bringing him doesn’t mean to undermine anybody. They have also done a phenomenal job.

Meanwhile, Thala Dhoni is currently leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. The 3-times trophy winner team has yet again qualified for the final match of the tournament this season. However, the second finalist to take on CSK in the finals is yet to be decided. Delhi Capitals will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 2 tomorrow.
