The demise of the 24-year-old medico student Vismaya after she was subjected to domestic violence over dowry has sent shockwaves and public outrage in Kerala. Several celebs took to their social media handle to react to the issue. A day ago, gender rights activist and former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestant Diya Sana penned a post on how she survived an abusive married life. 

Going by her Facebook post, Diya got married 15 years ago. After taking away all her wealth and jewelry, she was verbally and physically abused by her husband and in-laws. Unable to bear the torture, she ran away to her house along with her son. She says that she doesn't want to remember the bitter memory that happened during her immature age. Sharing her experience Diya also urged every woman to fight back and stay strong. 

"The day I don't even like remembering, 15 years ago. My Vappa gave everything he had for his daughter. They took away all the gold and wealth. I ran to my home when his sister, brother-in-law and mother started abusing me physically and emotionally. By then I got my dear son. I don't like to rewind those days of that immature age, no woman should be a victim of such abuse. Dear ladies, please escape. React, protest," reads the translation of Diya's Malayalam post. Diya also shared a few pictures from her wedding.
