Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne has reportedly suffered injuries in a motorbike accident on November 28. The player was a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well and led Rajasthan Royals (RR) to their first and only victory in 2008.
The cricketer was riding the bike with his son Jackson when he fell off the vehicle and slid for more than 15 metres on the ground. Warne, who woke up in pain the next morning, decided to visit a hospital fearing he might have broken his foot or damaged his hip. “I'm a bit battered and bruised and very sore,” the bowler was quoted as saying by an Australian news portal.
Despite the situation, Shane Warne is expected to make a return to the commentary box for the 1st Ashes Test match which is scheduled to begin on December 8, 2021 at The Gabba. Warne, who has played 145 Tests and 194 ODIs for Australia, announced his retirement from international cricket in 2007.
