Renowned global star Ram Charan and his wife, Upasana, have been captivating the media spotlight, particularly following Ram Charan's mesmerizing and sensational portrayal in Rajamouli's monumental epic, RRR. His compelling performance as the freedom fighter Alluri Seetha Rama Raju has earned acclaim from both local and international celebrities.
The dynamic couple recently graced the pages of Forbes India magazine, offering readers an insight into their lives. During the candid interview, Upasana, the founder of UR.Life, a holistic wellness platform, and the vice chairperson of CSR (corporate social responsibility) at Apollo Hospitals, shared intriguing aspects of Ram Charan's persona.
Upasana acknowledged Charan for providing her with an unfiltered and alternative perspective on her career. "You need someone to give you a reality check, who will tell you things unfiltered… and he is that person for me. I listen quietly, I don’t even question it," she remarked.
Reflecting on various phases of her life, Upasana shared her experiences as a college student facing 'body shaming' and her rebellious phase when she initially resisted joining the family business as an aspiring fashion designer. A transformative spiritual journey led her to recognize her purpose. "I understood that I am in this world, with this background, at this time, for a reason. And if I don’t make the best use of that, and now even my marriage, to spread good, then what is the use of my life?" she expressed.
Despite the often gloomy atmosphere in hospitals, Upasana considers them as sacred spaces, dating back to her childhood days accompanying her grandfather on rounds. The decision to get married came as a significant shock, presenting a cultural shift that required time for her to adapt. Professionally, her goals are clear—to treat individuals with empathy and dignity across all societal strata. Additionally, she strives to transform the hospital experience, ensuring that the discharge process, particularly billing, becomes a more pleasant and humane aspect of patient care.
