Suriya had recently completed shooting for his next release Soorarai Pottru directed by Sudha Kongara and co-starring Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu, and it has been said that this movie might be releasing on December 20. Now the film faces an unexpected competition.

As per latest speculations, Karthi's next movie directed by Jeetu Joseph, a family thriller which also stars Jyothika, Sathyaraj, Nikhila Vimal and Ammu Abhirami is also being planned as a December 20 release. If both the movies announce the same release date, it will be the first time Suriya and Karthi clash at box office.
