Nandamuri Balakrishna's passion for the role of Sri Rama manifested itself in his depiction of the pangs of separation with near perfection in Sri Rama Rajyam. Speaking about the film, he says that SRR has re-introduced the great cultural tradition of ancient Bharath to the younger generation. "The film has brought to light the fast-forgotten moorings of our ways," the actor was quoted as saying.

Saying that the youth are abandoning relationships and affections in the name of modernity, Balakrishna opined that the great epic of the Ramayana delineates the love and affection between various family members. Truth, right path, modesty in speech, and so on have been held in high esteem in our culture. He felt that SRR will have an impact on our social behaviour.

He was also in praise of Ramana and Bapu, and also said that none but only ANR could have done justice to the role of Valmiki. He also patted Nayanatara for utilizing the opportunity given to her.
