Rapists and sexual molesters are rampant in todays world and they are indiscriminate in choosing their victims even if they are in a vegetative state giving no thought for the suffering they cause. A Florida woman has sued the healthcare provider of her 23 year old daughter who was sexually assaulted and impregnated while housed in the facility between September 28, 2010, until February 7, 2019. She could not speak or even move her body a little.
In January 2019 the staff who change the woman's diapers noticed heavy bruising on her hips and also signs of her crying in constant pain. When checked by a doctor it was ascertained that the hips of the victim was broken and also that she was pregnant and had a miscarriage. No DNA of the perpetrator was found and hence the culprit could not be brought to justice.
The woman's mother has sued the healthcare provider Mentor Network and its staff for an unspecified amount including legal expenses and shifting her to another facility. It has been cited that there was due negligence on the part of the facility in caring for their patient as well as failing to alert the law authorities after discovering the crime.
