Lyca Productions entered Tamil cinema five years back and their first release was 'Kaththi' directed by A.R. Murugadoss, starring Thalapathy Vijay in dual roles, Samantha as the leading lady and Anirudh scoring the music.

On the fifth anniversary of 'Kaththi' Lyca has posted a tribute video with the statement "It's been five years since our first movie 'Kaththi' released & we must say it has been a wonderful journey so far. Lots more to come".

The megabucks lineup of films from the Lyca stable include Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' directed by A.R. Murugadoss, Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar, Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan', Karthick Naren's 'Mafia' starring Arun Vijay and Prasanna and Sivakarthikeyan's 'SK17' directed by Vignesh Shivan.
