Five releases in a week

Once again the lack of proper planning is coming to the fore in Mollywood, with five movies gearing up to make a release by next week. If latest release charts are to be believed, five movies including Mammootty’s 'Palery Manikyam-Oru Pathira Kolapathakinte Katha', Pramod-Pappan’s 'Black Stallion, M T’s 'Neelathamara', Jayaram’s 'My Big Father' and Thaha’s 'Kappal Muthalali' will grace the theatres by Friday, which is the day of Bakrid. The season, with not much holidays don’t have the potential to save more than a couple of these movies. And so at least three from the list will be doomed as failure, even if they are better made movies.

The other surprising thing is that this is a chance for the biggest number of releases that have happened, in any weekend of the last two years.
