'Rangasthalam' is set to hit the screens on March 30.  Ahead of its release, we analyze what is promised to be there in the film and tell you why you shouldn't miss it.

1. Unique characterizations:

When Sukumar is around, quirky and entertaining characterizations are not far behind.  They go hand in hand.  Ram Charan as Chitti Babu is expected to be an underdog with a golden heart and terrific grit.  His Godavari slang, his partial disability, etc make him a unique cinematic animal.

Samantha as Rama Lakshmi is another crowd-puller.  Jagapathi Babu as a feudal lord, Aadhi Pinisetty as an aspiring people's representative, Prakash Raj as an idealistic leader, and more...

2. Emotional content:

The film surely is high on emotions.  Sukumar's heroes are not only strange but also have their heart in the right place.  The brother sentiment in the film is expected to be a cathartic highpoint.

There is a lot of potential for conflict situations.  Chitti Babu's innocence, the haughtiness of Jagapathi Babu's character, Rama Lakshmi's tenderness, everything invites us to expect a strong emotional core.

3.  The performances:

Expectations are very high from Ram Charan.  The way the makers have talked about his "rare" performance says it all.  Naresh has even said that Cherry could well win a National Award.  Sukumar had clapped impromptu on the first day of the shoot.  By then the Mega Power Star had got into the skin of the character.

Since 'Rangasthalam' is visibly a story-oriented film, expect everybody else to complement Cherry.  The ensemble cast is completed by Prakash Raj, Ajay Ghosh, and senior Naresh.

4. Devi Sri Prasad's music:

'Yentha Sakkagunnave', 'Rangamma Mangamma' and the title track have been on a rampage.  If Chandrabose's lyrics are profound, DSP is no less insuperable.  The album has been a monstrous hit and even the RR, we shall see, is mind-blowing.

Together with the five songs already out, a sixth song, rendered by Chandrabose, will be there as a surprise package.

5.  The two R's:

Rathnavelu and Ramakrishna, the cinematographer and the art director, respectively.  These two departments are most likely going to win many awards for the year.  If Ramakrishna (together with Monica) has recreated a Godavari village at Jubilee Hills, Rathnavelu must have made a killing out of the period genre.

It's almost a foregone conclusion that, visually, 'Rangasthalam', made by Mythri Movie Makers without compromising on quality, will be a stunner.
