Six people, including five relatives of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, killed in a tragic accident in Halsi area of Lakhisarai, Bihar, on Tuesday early morning. Reportedly, Rajput’s relatives were travelling in an SUV from Patna to Jamui after attending the last rites of a relative. As the SUV driver allegedly fell asleep, their vehicle collided with a truck loaded with empty LPG cylinders. The police said the SUV in which the entire family was travelling was mangled to such an extent that two bodies, including that of the driver, remained trapped inside for more than an hour. Halsi police station in-charge Awadhesh Kumar said, “A truck coming from the opposite direction rammed the SUV in which 10 people were travelling. The impact of the accident was such that six people died on the spot. The truck driver managed to flee the spot.”
Six people, including the driver, died on the spot while the four injured were rushed to Jamui's Sadar hospital in critical condition. The deceased have been identified as Laljit Singh (75), his two sons Amit Shekhar alias Nemani Singh (52) and Ram Chandra Singh (37), daughter Baby Devi (42), niece Anita Devi (40) and the driver Preetam Kumar (29). Laljit Singh was the brother-in-law of Om Prakash Singh, a senior Haryana Police officer. OP Singh is the brother-in-law of Sushant Singh Rajput. Those injured are Prashant Kumar, Balmiki Singh, Balmukund Singh and Tonu Singh
