Five get national award, Allama bags two

The prestigious 64th national film awards declared on Friday has some relief for Kannada cinema. The film directed by TS Nagabharana in Hari Khoday production Allama` (on philosopher saint of 12th century) bagged two awards – debutant music director Bapu Padmanabha get national award for music while MK Ramakrishna receives the award for best make up at the national level.

The Kannada film of director Nikil Manju in production Khader Reservation` gets the best regional film award, the Tulu film Badipu` receives best regional cinema award and Railway Children` Manohar K gets best child actor at the national level.

Bapu Padmanabha scoring music for the periodic cinema says it was a challenge that he enjoyed and worked. This award will be inspiration for my future works he says.

The Tulu film Madipu` by Chetan Mundaadi and Ganesh Hegde is a first attempt. The focus on the belief of human being was stressed in this film besides the search made by son to trace his mother. Manohar K who shares the national award for best children with two others is a student of 9th standard. Prithvi Konanaur has directed this Railway Children`.
