The fearless five who fought for Asifas justice

The brutal rape of an eight year old girl in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir has left us wondering if there is an ounce of humanity left at all. The topic is nationally trending thanks to the web community. But appreciation must be given to the crucial people who through their brave demeanour brought the news out into the public forum, despite the involvement of political danger.

Here are the five people who play a prominant role in bringing justice to Asifa:

Deepika Singh Rajawat: She is a lawyer who has taken up the responsibility to provide legal expertise and bring justice to Asifa. It should be noted that she has also been facing threats to drop the case, but she isn’t budging.

Ramesh Kumar Jalla: He is the SSP of Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir who started investigations in a jiffy. Being an officer with an straight flawless track performance, this is of course was expected and commendable as well.

SP Vaid: This is Jammu and Kashmir police’s chief. Vaid was the man to pat his force on the back when investigations were completed in record time. Furthermore here’s what he said that makes him a solid cop : “As police officers, we do not work as Hindus or Muslims,” he said.

Jammu Chamber of Commerce:  Jammu Chamber of commerce played an important role in Asifa’s issue. How? They were the first to conduct a press conference showing support to Asifa . They went as far as even not complying with the call for bandh by the Jammu Bar Association.

Rahul Pandita: As a journalist, Rahul’s work is something that will be remembered for a long time. He was crucial in taking the issue and writing it in media with details and skill that makes his reportage first class in the professional sense and also helping the issue reach the wider populace.

Let us hope Asifa's soul rests in peace after justice branded on the culprits.
