First terrorist was a Hindu: Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan has said at a political rally that the first terrorist of Independent India was a Hindu. He was referring to Nathuram Godse, a Hindutva nationalist who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
"I am not saying this because this is a Muslim-dominated area. I am saying this before a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Free India's first terrorist was a Hindu," he said, suggesting that terrorism started with him.
Kamal is not the first one to call Godse a terrorist. The murderer of the Father of the Nation has been described as one by many. However, critics don't agree. "Godse was an assassin and was executed. A terrorist kills innocents at random. But Kamal will get confused and flushed indignant if you get into nuances," says a Twitter user (@realitycheckind).
