The first phone in press meet was organised by top director Girish Kasaravalli on Monday evening at Basanth Residency in Bangalore between the film press and the author of 'Nayi Neralu' (shadow of Dog) Dr.S.L.Byrappa who spoke from Mysore over telephone.

I believe in the artistic ability and I have no doubt about the integrity of director Girish Kasaravalli. That is the reason for me to give the rights of my novel 'Nayi Neralu' only to him replied Dr.S.L.Byrappa from Mysore for a question from the film media that was sitting at Basasnth Residency Hotel in Bangalore.

I have written the novel 'Naayi Neralu' 40 years ago and necessary changes have to be made. The changes made by Girish Kasaravalli is very good for the film. He has tried to reach the wide section of audience by rehashing my novel. In fact first I discouraged him to take up the novel. But he came out with a new script based on my novel. That really attracted me said the senior literary giant Dr.S.L.Byrappa.

Dr.S.L.Byrappa who has seen 'Naayi Neralu' film - the adaptation of his novel on screen when the first copy of the film came out is content with the treatment given by director Girish Kasaravalli. The social statement he makes in his own perspective is good complimented the veteran writer.
