In a first, a glorious statue of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao will be put up in a public place in the US. This is the first of its kind in the US. The same is coming up under the aegis of Sam Joshi, the Mayor of Edison City, who is a person of Indian origin. NASAA (North American Seema Andhra Association) is funding and managing the same.
The statue will be readied for the centennial year of NTR, which is going to be celebrated next year. The City of Edison has an emotional value for Telugus, a majority of whom started their American dream from that place.
Tollywood producer TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory has worked in the background in influencing the city administration to allocate a piece of plot for the statue. "His great initiative inspired millions of Telugu fans in the United States and they lent their support to this greatest thought," the organizers said.
Besides Vishwa Prasad, these individuals have also played a key role in the endeavour: Saketa Chadalavada, Commissioner - New Jersey State Asian American and Pacific Islander Commission; Ujwal Kumar Kasthala, Member Cultural and Arts Committee, City of Edison New Jersey.
The likes of Sri Atluri, Swati Atluri, several volunteers of NAASA, TANA (particularly Anjiah Chowdary, TANA President), and Ravi Potluri have also been associated with the project.
