First Look Aap Ki Khatir

The first look at the promos of Dharmesh Darshan’s ‘Aap Ki Khatir’ reveals the familiar love-bonding between his lead pair of Akshay Khanna and Priyanka Chopra. It’s a chiffon-saree-meets-salubrious-locations picture of longing. Something that has been oft seen-n-heard before. Himesh Reshamiya’s song sounds as if you’ve heard it all so many times before. It’s all a matter of demand and supply brother Reshamiya.

You are a bit too-much-all-over-the-place and losing musical ground fast. If you can do a brilliant ‘Ahista Ahista’ then you are safe. But rehashing ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’ and ‘Jhoom Jhoom’ won’t take you much further.

As for Dharmesh Darshan, then this hot shot director has made one of the biggest blockbusters of all times in ‘Raja Hindusthani’. He churned out the biggest loser as well with ‘Mela’. Somewhere he should realize that Indian Cinema has evolved in the last few years. The brand of romance and high drama that he champions is not finding favours with the audience any more. If the promo of ‘Aap Ki Khatir’ is anything to go by then it will join the ranks of heard-n-seen before cinema. Akshay Khanna is definitely a good choice and hopefully Darshan must have made good use of him.

Dharmesh Darshan’s personal life has been festered with troubles off late. First his three month marriage ended in an acrimonious divorce. Later he was accused by a young crew member of ‘Aap ki Khatir’ of sexual misconduct by Darshan in a London hotel room. And this crew member happened to be a boy with small time filmi background. It remains to be seen if the personal setbacks affect Dharmesh as a filmmaker. The verdict will be out once ‘Aap Ki Khatir’ is released some time soon.

Sunny Deol destined to strike back with 'Naksha'

With an exception of 'Indian', 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' and 'The Hero', none of his films have worked since his 'Gadar' created box office records. Now Sunny Deol may finally be able to shrug away his failures with the release of adventure thriller 'Naksha' that is directed by debutant Sachin Bajaj.

''Shiva'' song repeated in ''Shiva''

The song in question is a fun campus number 'Jagdi Jagadi Jaa' that was picturised on Nagarjuna and his leading lady Amla a few moons back. Now it arrives as yet another fun number though the setting changes to a police station [yes, you heard it right]! Titled 'Chor Police', this similar sounding tune is primarily choreographed on Ninad Kamat [Parineeta, Dus, Zeher] and Nisha Kothari.

Salman Wants To Get Married

Salman Khan leads a troubled life. Court cases, mired-in-controversy personal relationships, a do-gooder who prefers to stay in the background, a brat who indulges in cat fights with the likes of Viveik Oberoi and John Abraham and a good friend who backs non-happening stars like Govinda or a bankrupt producer in Boney Kapoor for example.

Don: SRK or Big B?

Shahrukh Khan. Or. Amitabh Bachchan. It’s difficult to choose who makes for a better Don. Bachchan was at the height of his career delivering one hit after another in the late seventies when Chandra Barot’s maiden venture ‘Don’ added to his list of super-hits. The ‘Khaike Paan Banaraswala’ and ‘Main Hoon Don’ became a rage. Mr Bachchan made a cool-dude-boss of a syndicate of gangsters. As he feast
