Former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin claimed in an exclusive interview with Fox News that he was fired by the Obama administration for investigating Burisma, the energy company where Hunter Biden served on the board. Shokin stated that he believes he was let go due to pressure from then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, alleging bribery. He maintained that continuing the Burisma investigation would have exposed corrupt activities involving Hunter Biden, Devon Archer, and others. However, Shokin did not provide concrete evidence for these claims.

Shokin further stated that he did not consent to a joint statement and was pressured to downplay the incident. He emphasized that he was not respected and that he believes the Bidens received bribes related to his dismissal. The White House denied the allegations, describing them as debunked and false.

Joe Biden had previously admitted that he pressured former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fire Shokin. Biden explained that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid unless Shokin was removed. Shokin stated he was investigating Burisma and its owner Mykola Zlochevsky at the time of his firing.

Shokin's allegations have sparked controversy and raised questions about his claims and motivations. The White House pointed to indications that Shokin's firing was due to his failure to address corruption adequately. Despite the ongoing debate, the episode highlights the complex web of allegations and counterclaims surrounding the Burisma investigation and its connection to Hunter Biden.
