After four months of the shutdown, the government gave permission for the shooting of serials to resume and a few productions got back to the studios in all parts of the country. On Saturday a fire broke out at the sets of the serial 'Kumkum Bhagya' due to an electrical leak.
The incident occurred at the Killick Nikson Studio at Chandiwali, Mumbai and the speedy action of the fire and rescue team ensured that the entire cast and crew including actors Sriti Jha Shabbir Ahluwalia and Pooja Banerjee who play the lead in 'Kumkum Bhagya' escaped unhurt.
'Kumkum Bhagya' produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Raveendra Gautham is based on Jane Austen's classic English novel 'Sense and Sensibility' and is one of the most viewed serials across India.
Balaji Telefilms in a statement asserted “Our first priority is to help protect our talent, production crew and employees. We are taking all the precautions detailed in the guideline. We were and will continue following all medical protocols set by the authorities and have implemented guidelines concerning social interactions, hygiene, travel, and visits to the sets.”
