An FIR has been lodged against e-commerce giant Flipkart’s CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy and its founder Sachin Bansal following a cheating complaint filed against the company by a Ghaziabad-based lawyer.
The lawyer, Naushad Chaudhary, alleged that Flipkart had sold him a laptop that had features different from what was mentioned at the time of sale. The complainant mentioned that he had bought the laptop under the special offers category, where an Intel processor in the device was replaced by an AMD processor. Chaudhary added that the customer service had initially promised to replace the laptop, but had stopped communication with him later. A legal notice was also issued by the lawyer to Flipkart. As there was no response to the notice either, he approached a court and got an order passed for registration of an FIR against Flipkart.
The charges filed against the company include cheating, criminal breach of trust, and forgery. The Flipkart team reportedly responded by saying they would look into the matter soon.
