Parakala Prabhakar is a well-known social commentator and political economist. He is also Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's husband.

In a shocking comment on Twitter, Prabhakar has abused a commoner's mother. A Jana Sena supporter, who was ostensibly a supporter of Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party, on Twitter, accused Prabhakar of being a sellout. When the Megastar founded PRP, just a few weeks ahead of the 2009 Assembly elections to Andhra Pradesh, Prabhakar infamously accused Chiru of selling the interests of his party to the then ruling Congress party. The Twitter user in question today opined that Chiru would have gone on to become a Chief Minister had it not been for Prabhakar's so-called political propaganda.

At this, Prabhakar started abusing the commoner, saying that he used to have sexual encounters with the commoner's mother and that's what is making him hurl random accusations. "You are taking out your anguish because I made out with your mother back then. I can understand your pain," Prabhakar wrote in an obvious intent to insult the commoner.
