The debate seems to be never ending. We gear up ambitiously for the release of the most awaited magnum opus, that has made us wait impatiently all through last year, and seems to have rolled the trend for this year too. Dubbed in 38 languages, ambitiously awaiting festival of bounty for its auspicious release, 'I' is one flick that the world is looking forward to. It was to have released as early as mid 2014. But, final touches kept the movie from the big screens. But now that everything is done, 'I' is anticipated for Pongal. But, it is doubtful yet again.
What really happened?
Initially touted to consume 220 crore rupees in its making, producer Aascar Ravichandran confirmed last October that the project is complete in a budget of 100 crores. Though it was only the finishing touches that restrained the movie from releasing all along, this time around, it is a matter of money. Allegedly, the 'I' team owes a lump settlement to Picture House Media. The case was tabled and the High Court produced its verdict that the film shall be procrastinated for the next 3 weeks. However, Aascar Ravichandran has come forth to explain the reality.
"The film will hit the screens for Pongal, as promised" he said. Ravichandran claims that the dispute among 'friends' has been settled, and the final print of the movie will reach all centres worldwide, for the film's release next week. So, Pongal it is! Starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead, 'I' is directed by Shankar, and the film will be released in many prime theatres across the world, on January 14th.
