The long stand-off between the makers of “S Durga” and the IFFI festival authorities over screening of the film, has now come to an end. As per the latest report, the screening of 'S Durga' directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan has been scheduled for the Indian Panorama jury on Monday at 6.00 pm.
The Sanal Kumar Sasidharan film was dropped from the screening schedule of the 48th International Film Festival of India, along with another film ‘Nude’, leading to controversy. After Sasidharan petitioned the Kerala High Court, the court directed IFFI to screen the film at the festival. An appeal by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to stay the court direction was also rejected by the High Court on Friday.
As directed by the High Court, the movie's director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan had submitted a censored copy of the film along with the certificate to the festival director Sunit Tandon. The screening for the 10-member jury will be held at the festival grounds in Panaji.
