Panjaa did not deserve the drubbing it received. True that the story was a hotchpotch of Antahpuram and Balu, and the second half was unsurprising, but, to be fair to the director, the first half was technically brilliant. Its disaster, sources say, has made Pawan to rethink his preferences.

SJ Suryah and Vishnuvardhan, between them, have given him two duds. The less said about Dharani, whose Annavaram was a ridiculous flop like Komaram Puli, the better. Of the 6 films directed by Tamil minds, Pawan has registered flops with four of them here in Andhra Pradesh. This, it seems, has made Pawan to become wise.

Though Gabbar Singh was okayed by him even before the release of Panjaa, he gave the nod for Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu only recently. It may be noted that Pawan has evinced interest in working with Rajamouli. The other top director with whom Pawan may work in 2013 is Sreenu Vytla!

It may be said that Pawan’s change of tacks is very much in tune with the reality. Willy nilly these are the times when Tollywood writers/directors are having better ideas for superstars than Kollywoodians. This explains why Tollywood is the cynosure of all eyes. Everyone from Salman to Akshay and Ranbir are in awe with our grand stories. No wonder that Power Star has joined them.
