Mammootty and director Ranjith were supposed to come together for Raajamanickyam. However at the last moment, Anwar Rasheed replaced him.

Now, Ranjith has managed to bag an opportunity to direct Mammootty now which he doesn't want to miss this time. Prajapathi is the name of the film and Siraj would be producing the same.

Ranjith is currently busy completing the screenplay for Prajapathi. The film’s producer has confirmed that shooting begins in the second week of March.

By then, Mammooty would have completed Thurupugulan, his Vishu release.

Meanwhile, something very strange is happening to Malayalam film industry. Three weeks have passed since the beginning of 2006 and not even one film has hit the theatres yet.
