The movie 'Sadma' which starred ace actor Kamal Haasan and beautiful Sridevi is all set to be remade by ad filmmaker Llyod Baptista. According to media reports Llyod said, "Yes I am remaking the movie 'Sadma'. It's a beautiful film, I had seen it as a young boy and the last scene was always stuck in my mind and heart. I feel the current generation who doesn't believe in love needs to see films like this.
The movie Sadma` was a remake of a Tamil film 'Moondram Pirai' in which Sridevi play a young woman who forgets her childhood after a head injury. She ends up in a brothel where she is rescued by a lonely school teacher ( Kamal Haasan) who later falls in love with her.
Filmmaker Llyod has already bought the rights from director-producer Raj Sippy and he also shows his interest to make the film in English and Tamil as well. He also says casting director Mukesh Chabhra is working on the cast of the film and they are brain storming few big names to play the lead roles.
'Sadma' was a classic then and it was director by renowned Balu Mahendra in 1983. Haasan even bagged a national award for his role in the Tamil original.
