Popular film producer and financier Kapali Mohan has allegedly committed suicide after his body was found hanging in a room in a hotel owned by him in Bengaluru. The police have ascertained that he took the extreme step at 2.30 in the morning and his body was found on Monday at 9 am when he did not answer the door. The 59-year-old was very close to Dr. Rajkumar's family, especially to superstar Shivrajkumar.
A few days back Mohan had released a selfie video in which he had asked the Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and Deputy Chief Minister to intervene and help him out of a financial crisis that arose after he bid a tender for a bus stand in Peenya in Bengaluru paying a huge sum. The bus stand did not become operational putting the producer under great financial stress and rendered him unable to pay back his bank loans.
A few days earlier the police had booked Mohan under Karnataka Money Lenders Act and the Karnataka Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act and also seized rupees 9.33 lakhs from his gambling den.
