The producer council puts an end to director Atlee's 'Jawan' story issue

Famous south director Atlee has been directing Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara in the action thriller 'Jawan', for months now. The much-anticipated film was caught by trouble when a complaint was registered in the Tamil Film Producer Council for Plagiarism.

Jawan landed in controversy after veteran producer Manickam Narayanan alleged that the movie's story is copied from the story of “Perarasu” which starred seasoned actor Vijayakanth and lodged a complaint regarding the same. According to the latest reports, the TFPC has clarified that both are different stories and ruled out the issue.

Bankrolled by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan stars SRK in dual roles, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and Yogi Babu with Deepika Padukone in a cameo role. It is slated for release on June 2, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. There is speculation that Thalapathy Vijay will play a cameo in Jawan.
