In the last few years, Tamil cinema has faced turbulent times in the form of a political party or a leader of a particular community. We all know what happened during the releases of Viswaroopam`, Thalaivaa`, and Kaththi`. The former two films were released all over the world, but in our State, the makers kept on talking and compromising at various levels to screen the movie. For Kaththi` no one was sure whether the movie would come for Diwali or not till the final moment and we have witnessed miscreants throwing petrol bombs at the cinema halls to stall the movie.

The similar trend was catching up with Karthi`s Komban` as well, but the film fraternity has decided to put an end to all these by saying, “NO INDIVIDUAL HAS RIGHT TO OBJECT A CENSOR CERTIFIED FILM”.

The president of Tamil Film Directors, Vikraman, Sarath Kumar, and K.E. Gnanavel Raja had met the press and released an official statement from their end. Kalaipuli Thanu has pleaded, ““These days, making a film and getting it released has become a speculative task. We have only 10% confidence over the film`s favourable result and it`s a bleak scenario as everyone knows. But what turns to be more speculative is the process of getting it censored that becomes a huge burden than making a film. It`s almost like a woman in labour pain. Moreover, it adds an unbearable pain, when an individual or a group much prior to the film`s release or without viewing it comes up with problems that hassle everyone`s expectations.”
