The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce today met in the afternoon to deliberate upon some important issues concerning the Telugu film industry. The OTT-theatrical release window was the primary among them. The cinema ticket prices (especially concerning Telangana) in different centres was another major issue.
No decision was taken on announcing an indefinite strike. As such, there won't be any suspension of film shoots in the immediate term.
Producer C Kalyan also dismissed the rumour that there is no consensus in the Chamber. "All stakeholders in the Chamber are on the same page," he added.
It was decided that a committee would be set up to look into the outstanding issues. Small and medium films are expected to have separate rules, while big films will be given leeway in some respects.
The meeting was attended by C Kalyan, 'Sravanthi' Ravi Kishore, AM Ratnam, Gemini Kiran, Damodara Prasad, senior director Teja, Prasanna Kumar, and others.
In the wake of some notable releases bombing at the box office, the decisions that are going to be taken will be imperative.
