Reema Sandhu's age is 42. She wanted to earn easy money. Working as a voice and accent trainer at a Mumbai-based BPO, she came up with a fraudulent idea. She decided to open an account on Bharat Matrimony. Reema claimed to be a neurosurgeon.
Retired Army colonel Bhupinder Singh from Telangana liked her (fake) profile and helped his son Dilpreeth Singh get in touch with her. The unsuspecting groom spoke with Reema (who impersonated as Riddhima Kalsy on the matrimony site) repeatedly and befriended her.
Within some days, Reema alias Riddhima said that her grandmom needed to be treated for an ailment. Dilpreeth thought he should reach out to his future wife and transferred Rs. 3.36 lakh out of compassion.
The fake bride at the other end stopped answering his calls from then onwards. The retired army colonel and his son got suspicious and lodged a complaint with the Rachakonda police, who swung into action. They discovered her whereabouts and helped the Maharashtra police arrest the culprit.
