February: Watch out for love stories

Shiva Manasulo Shruti, Love Failure, Ishq. February has on platter something for all the lovers of candyfloss and romantic entertainers. Now if you thought these are just any other hackneyed 'love films', you can't be more wrong. Though we can't vouch for their novelty just going by the claims of their filmmakers, it looks like they are very credulous.
SMS, starring Sudhir Babu and Regina, and directed by Tathineni Sathya, is the first in the race. Releasing on Feb. 10, this stylishly-titled film promises fun, emotion and jiving music. The newcomer is awaited because one and all have already spoken of his talent and potential.
Siddharth is back after delivering a mature acting output in Oh My Friend. Balaji Mohan's story made him become a producer, and it everybody is sure that Love Failure has got something novel in it. Drawing a parallel between his character and Devdas, Sid has said that the film is for those who are in love and who would like to fall in love. This film, starring Amala Paul in the role of a Parvathi, philosophizes that love doesn't always mean winning, and that even failure is victory in love. The film is scheduled to be released on Feb. 14.
You should watch out for Ishq, a Nitin-starrer, for the sake of its director, Vikram Kumar. Who is VK? The chap is the talented director of Madhavan's 13B. He had thought of making a sequel to that 2009 hit, but instead chose to come up with a love story, which is "close to reality". Ishq is a candid film, a simple one, and it stands out for its unique treatment, screenplay and visuals. Expect to watch Nitin in a feel-good role, because the hero has consciously latched on to the role, as he feels that he unrealistic action films are not for him. Finally, don't forget that Nithya Menon is the heroine. May PC Sreeram's cinematography make it a pleasant watch!
The February Troika, we shall not miss!
