Ace director Fazil had suffered setbacks in recent times, with movies like 'Living Together', 'Moss N' Cat' not doing too well. His magic touch that we saw in movies like 'Noketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu', 'Manichitratazhu', 'Harikrishanas' et al in absent in his recent releases. Fazil has hit back against the tendency of people to disrespect the senior stars and directors.

In a recent interview the director became vocal about this issue, saying that it is wrong notion that senior artiste can be chucked away and that they are a liability to the industry. He stood by Mammootty and Mohanlal saying that their star value and talent is something that others can only dream about and says that they still rule the industry whatever one might say against them. Senior directors and actors still have the ability to churn out good cinema and not just the so called new generation artistes.
