Pakistani filmstar Fawad Khan, who has also worked in multiple Bollywood movies, was last seen in the film 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' which turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of Pakistani cinema. The film was also supposed to release in India last week but it was cancelled due to the political tensions between the two nations.
In a recent media interaction, Fawad Khan was asked to share his views on the potential release of his film in India. The actor told CNN, "That would be great, obviously. If it were to happen, it’s a great way to handshake. It is kind of like those sweets and delights we send across to one another on Eid and Diwali. Films and music is that kind of an exchange. But things are a bit heated still, let’s see. I’ve heard it may release and it may not. So, let us see.”
Talking about what the success of 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' meant for Pakistani cinema, Fawad said, "I am a small part of the industry and the kind of boundaries it pushed, the business it did and the filmmaking style…all of it proved great for Pakistani cinema.”
Also starring Mahira Khan, who shared screen with Shahrukh Khan in 'Raees', 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' was released last October in Pakistan. It is most expensive as well as one of the highest grossing Pakistani films of all time.
