Actress Farida Jalal expressed her dissatisfaction with changing allegiances in the film business as well as her sentiments on the late director Yash Chopra recently. Farida related in an India Today interview how, following their work on "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," Yash Chopra extended her an invitation to appear in "Dil Toh Pagal Hai". They would carry on working together, Yash Chopra promised her. But when she later sent him a message and heard nothing, Farida was upset. That she had been replaced thoughtlessly pained her.
After 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,' Farida related, "Yash Ji phoned me for 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai.' Adi [Aditya Chopra] felt I wouldn't accept the job he stated he had for me. Never refuse me or Adi, Yash Ji advised me. 'Yeh silsila chalta rahein', he said. I was overjoyed and looked forward to the next assignment." She said, "Having someone else put in my position hurts. I even did a TV program on which Yash Ji left a message. Reminding him of his commitment, I mailed him chocolates. No answer hurts so much. Forgetting hurts."
