Farhan Akhtar's Special Song for Women on International Women's Day

  • IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,March 08 2016]

Talented actor Farhan Akhtar has recently come up with a new song titled - "We are all on the goodside" for International Women's Day. He gifts this special song to all the special women in his life and to his beloved female fans too. Sources say that, Farhan joined hands with Farout Media house, a music innovations, publishing and talent development company, and music director Kalyan Baruah for this song. He took inspiration for the song from a painting made by his younger daughter Akira.

Farhan also opened up saying that, "The song talks about an equal world - seeing every person beyond gender, colour of skin cast, creed, economic definition and race. It talks about celebrating equality as opposed to challenging it. Music is a great way to express support and highlights the important role and contributions women make in our society. This song also celebrates the spirit of being a woman and their achievements across the world. I cannot dedicate this song to just a person, but it is for all those who are a part of struggle". He also added saying, "The song was inspired by something that my younger daughter had done. She created a drawing which had this written, 'We are all on the good side'. I was inspired by that because I found that in its childlike way, a great way to look at the world."

Farhan has always been part of working towards raising women empowerment issues and he also makes significant contributions through MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination). He is also the male ambassador for UN Women in South Asia. Farhan's 'Women's Day song - We are all on the goodside" will release today.

Here's a song we created in hope for an equal world for all.. Inspired by my 9 year old, Akira. Happy Women's day !
