It is not unusual to have clashes in the entertainment industry due to the same subject matter. It seems like we're about to witness another one of such clashes. Filmmakers Farhan Akhtar and Ram Gopal Varma, both are working on web series that revolves around the life of Dawood Ibrahim.

While Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment’s series is attempting to adapt the book 'Dongri to Dubai' while RGV's project is based on his own research. No one including the author of the book has any idea about the progress of Farhan Akhtar's project.

Here's was RGV had to say about the whole affair, "I honestly don’t know what they are making. I read Dongri To Dubai which is very anecdotal in nature, like piecing together a number of crime columns published in newspapers. Also the subject matter of my series D Company is in the public domain. It’s the understanding and interpretation which will differ. Anyway may the best man win.”
